Huw Shakeshaft meets Sir Roger Daltrey at Parliament

Sir Roger Daltrey and Teenage Cancer Foundation President Huw Shakeshaft discuss the future of adolescent and young adult cancer support at Parliament.

FROM ROCK & ROLL TO PARLIAMENT: A VOICE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH CANCER

At Parliament, Sir Roger Daltrey, Founding Patron of the Teenage Cancer Foundation, and TCF President Huw Shakeshaft discussed their shared commitment to improving care and support for teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Their conversation reflected the partnership at the heart of this work. The Teenage Cancer Foundation mobilizes American donors, businesses, and community partners. Teen Cancer America, also founded by Sir Roger Daltrey, brings specialized adolescent and young adult cancer expertise and works directly with leading hospitals to develop approved programs and spaces for young people.

That work extends beyond treatment of the disease. Teenagers and young adults can face anxiety, depression, isolation and disruption to school, work, relationships and independence. Through its hospital partnerships, Teen Cancer America helps advance age-appropriate mental health support, peer connection, specialist care, and patient navigation alongside the clinical care patients receive.
